Music Marketing project

     In my Media studies class, we are currently doing a music marketing project. In the project I and 3 other students with a provided song create a marketing campaign for a new music artist. We show how we market the artist created. 

    The provided song was "coming home" by Leon bridges. The artist, Leon bridges, is a soul artist so started off by researching soul artists and their marketing strategies. We each had different roles to partake in the research. My part was to research Leon bridges and Adele and the way they marketed to the targeted audience. With all this information, we  

    The second step was to gather the information we researched and with the information create a music artist campaign of our own.  We did well on agreeing the specific aspects of the campaign. For example, being on our selected age group and how we will market the campaign. I came up with some of the marketing strategies. One being on how we should keep marketing products to a minimum due to our age target being millennials and how they tend to conserve their money and not spend it on products like t-shirts or posters.

       We also had to create a Music video with the provided song. This is where my partners and I got into trouble figuring out how we wanted it to be. It was hard to figure out with a conclusion due to all of us having different ideas. When we did one to a conclusion usually it would split into two and two because two of us blended our ideas and thought it worked perfectly meanwhile the others did the same. We did end up settling on a story line about a girl receiving letters from her lover and him coming home. The part of the coming is what led us to so many ideas and ways we could show that. I am glad that we figured out what to do and I like our end result. The result is in this storyboard: 

     We haven't finished filming so we may make a few changes but I doubt it due to us being more than halfway done with filming. we also have to finish our presentation and how we are going to present with all of the information created and gathered.
